History of Vårdnäs

On June 18, 1944, Bishop Tor Andræ inaugurated the first house at Vårdnäs – Mellangården and the youth garden Vårdnäs saw the light of day. It would be a place for community, conversation, personal development and upbringing of young people as well as a link in youth-friendly community planning where young people and adults would meet in cooperation and responsibility.

Over 70 years later, Vårdnäs Stiftsgård is still owned and operated by Linköping Stift. The facility has grown significantly over the years and today we are an established hotel and conference facility of good standard. The original mission - to be a place for community, development and conversation lives on to the highest degree. We are happy and proud to be an important and valued meeting place for companies, authorities, congregations, organizations and private individuals of all ages. Vårdnäs diocesan farm has a clear profile that is characterized by care for both people and nature, offers tranquility and invites creativity.
